Inspired by the enlightened women's salons of turn-of-the-century Europe, Debbie Edelman and Karen Hauser launched EdelHaus Modern Art Salon, LLC in 2014 to create a forum for art enthusiasts to view and discuss modern and contemporary art.  Unique experiences are offered on an event-by-event basis in settings that encourage conversation.  These intimate gatherings allow for meaningful exploration of timely topics, using an art-historical lens to deepen awareness, understanding, and appreciation of modern and contemporary art, and reflect upon art’s relationship to our contemporary world.

By decontextualizing art conversation from the market place to the broader cultural realm, and advocating the belief that intimate rather than intimidating encounters engender meaningful discourse and authentic experience, EdelHaus has attracted a broad audience of art devotees and an formidable base of emerging and seasoned arts professionals.  Whether on-site in New York City or its environs, or in conversation in a living- room setting, EdelHaus events are carefully curated along an annual theme. Each theme provides a focus through which to channel the abundant museum, gallery, studio, collection, and critical highlights of the season, encouraging dialogue between participants and a growing roster of artists, curators, gallerists, and scholars.
