  • Join us at the International Center for Photography's (ICP) new location for a curator-guided tour of Lauren Greenfield’s  "Generation Wealth", a 25-year compilation of photographs, oral history, and film comprising the first major retrospective of the artist’s work.  Greenfield (whose Queen of Versailles won, among other accolades, the Sundance award for best US Directing) has been documenting American wealth since 1992, when she began taking pictures of students at her high school in Santa Monica. Nearly three decades later, cultural critique and the morality tale still thematically underlie her lushly colored photographs and documentary films, both densely packed with visual information.
  • Next, we will walk to a nearby gallery to explore the contrasting identities and community captured by the equally evocative practice of a figurative painter, whose work concentrates on haunting and emotive portraiture from her native South Africa.
