The William Louis-Dreyfus Foundation Art Collection:
- Join us in Mt. Kisco, NY at this amazing 16,000 square foot storage facility, where more than 3,000 works representing over 200 artists reflect the discerning and unique connoisseurship of the late William Louis-Dreyfus, a lawyer, published poet, philanthropist, and father of four (including actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus), who passed away in September. As a collector, Louis-Dreyfus made an art out of identifying talent and collecting the work of largely self-taught and contemporary artists. Christina Kee, assistant curator of the collection, and arts educator Elizabeth Marwell, will speak about the Foundation’s educational mission and ongoing impact, and tour us through the vast holdings acquired over a lifetime -- many of which speak to the figurative traditions of this year's EdelHaus theme. The Foundation is a not-for-profit institution intended to share its patron's joy in art through public tours and educational programming, at no cost to the public.
*Schedule in some additional time, as we will head to a nearby restaurant for lunch, which is included as part of this event.
